As well as the continued clearing of grass and weeds, two additional matters exercised the group on the fourth clean up Day on 23 November 2019
Firstly, the sandstone blocks and the glazed bricks were sorted and stacked for possible future use.
Secondly, the woody shrubs, some of which were more than six inches in diameter, were cut down to playground level. For this we were more than fortunate to have had the help of an expert tree surgeon, Peter Hobson of Choice Tree Services. With the professional employment of his chain saw, Peter soon had the offending trunks cleared.
We would like publicly to thank Peter for volunteering his time and expertise in support of the community campaign to save the building.
The whole playground vista has been radically improved as a result of his work. Thank you, Peter!
